Our academic training gives us the unique skills to generate probabilistic resources modeling products in conjunction with more conventional techniques such as ordinary kriging for a multitude of geologic environments.

Understood provides a range of services that can be tailored to your needs.

Training

Looking to develop and implement custom geostatistical workflows for both long- and short-term models that can be maintained internally? Understood Mineral Resources will create and validate the requested models and provide training to personnel for continued use that can be relied upon year after year.

Team

The Understood Mineral Resources team features expert registered professionals with advanced academic training from the Centre for Computational Geostatistics at the University of Alberta. Matt Batty, MSc P.Geo, the founder of the company believes in integrating research ideas, concepts, and principles in a practical, experience-informed manner to provide you with a new depth of understanding about your deposit.

Our combined industry experience spans numerous commodities and geologic environments, including Cu-Au-Ag porphyry systems, high-sulphidation Au-Ag vein systems, low-sulphidation bulk tonnage Au systems, volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits, graphite deposits, and unconformity hosted uranium. We believe this industry experience positions us well to take on the technical challenges that exist within the industry. A high-level summary of our product offerings is listed below.

  • Preparation of NI 43-101 and other similarly purposed International Codes (JORC, 2012; S-K 1300, 2019) reports for disclosure of Mineral Resources.
  • Geologic interpretation and three-dimensional modelling
  • Deterministic resource modelling (kriging)
  • Conditional simulation for resource uncertainty or drill hole spacing studies
  • Development and implementation of custom geostatistical workflows for specific sites; both long and short-term models
  • Independent technical reviews of mineral resources
  • Mentoring and training geologists
  • Process building and hand-over for advanced projects or operating mines
